A Martha Halloween Special

Oh, how I just love Halloween. I love the smell of crushed leaves, the crisp air, the tastes of a candy explosion in my mouth, and the rush I get from dressing up. This year I decided to go as Martha Stewart.

The outfit: khaki pants, button up shirt, cardigan, apron, garden gloves, handcuffs, and a basket full of homemade gingersnap cookies.

How I pulled it off: I walked around the party telling people to try my cookies. I discussed how they were baked with a special technique and a secret ingredient: love. Then I would discuss my Connecticut farm home and spending summers in Maine. I completely avoided the question of jail by saying, "I have begun a new life. I have a new show - It is sharper, more modern, and appeals to the interest of all ages.

Halloween reminds me of being a child. It was so exciting to get dressed up in your costume, go to the Arco Elementary carnival, and then trick-or-treating. My favorite part of the Halloween night was visiting my grandmother Brewer's home. She would dress up like a witch, greet us at the door with a cackle, and then give us big hugs. She would also make her own huge, yummy suckers for us every year. I always felt (and still do) extra special to be able to have such a grandmother. This Halloween I missed home. I wanted nothing more than to be at home with Collin and Carlee while they knocked on doors and yelled, "trick or treat!" I wanted to dress up with them and my entire family.

Kaylyn as a Butte Pirate cheerleader!!! Mary as a Mary McMullen Bobble head -- genius costume.

Kay and I with Maggie the tooth fairy * Luckily this grouping did not come together.

Will the REAL Mary McMullen please stand up?
