Summer Fun and Sun

The sun is shining and we are taking all opportunities to enjoy the good weather.  Embassies of the European Union held open houses to tour the embassy, eat some national dishes, and learn more about their culture.  Trent was excited to learn that we could visit the Lithuania Embassy. Trent served a church mission in Lithuania and got a chance at the open house to use the language.  Trent was like a kid on Christmas morning as he talked with the staff about their homeland.  The food - well...it was terrible.  I had a drink that was made out of yeast.  When it was apparahant that I did not like it the staff gave me some warm seltzer water to wash it down with.  Yuck!  However, it was fun to watch Trent beam during the visit!

Earlier this summer we had plans to help some friends move over the weekend but it turned out they did not need our help.  We were wondering what to do with our free weekend, and Trent became determined that we should go to a bed and breakfast.  He did some research, made some phone calls and in a few hours were were at a Maryland bed and breakfast.  When we arrived, we found out that the owners were members of our church and had an enjoyable chat with the owners son.  We spent the day laying in a hamock and reading books we found in the library.  As night felll, we went out for dinner and ice cream on a pier nearby.  It was such a relaxing and romantic weekend.  Thank you sweetheart!

Last weekend was a beach day with the Bessey and Essig families at Rehobeth Beach.  We also made some new friends - the Bowens.   After lunch (which included french fries with truffle oil!) Ryan and Lincoln were intent to dig the largest hole they possibly could dig.  At about 5 ft. they hit fresh water and the digging became much more dificult.  Soon enough we were all in the hole with an amazing ammount of on lookers and helpers.

I loved this photo of Ryan and Kaylyn.  It captured the moment so well!
