Visiting Utah and Idaho in the summer has some great bonuses: cooler nights and fun events. This year we planned our trip to Idaho during Arco's Atomic Days Festival. You see, Arco was the first city in the world to be lit by atomic power. They now celebrate that engineering genius with a parade along with a ping pong drop from an airplane, a rodeo, live music, horseshoe competitions, and crafts booths. We attended the rodeo and were thrilled to watch the little kids riding on lambs. My favorite was the 3 man wild cow milking contest. The three men have to capture the cow and get some milk out of it. The first man back to the post wins. Awesome!
Arco also has a National Park called Craters of the Moon. Millions of years ago Arco experienced a volcano which left behind caves and all kinds of interesting cones and spatters.
Next Trent and I continued our state to state competition to see who can win mini golf in the most states. Before the trip, the score was Trent -1 Mandy- 3. We took my niece and nephew to play and I think that the following pictures say who won.....me.

So sad...
We spent the second part of our vacation in Utah with Trent's family. Unfortunately we did not have very many pictures from our time there but enjoyed a campfire dinner, baseball game, and of course we had to mini golf again. The score now: Trent: 1 and Mandy:5. I love the following picture after we finished our game of mini golf. Those Bowen boys are pretty ridiculous.
