27 March 2008 was a day of validation.
1. After months of worry, postponement, dread, excitement, and some studying, I am happy to report that I took my licensing exam and passed!!! This means that I am now a full fledged Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have paid my dues and can now get a higher paying job and/or start a private practice. Even better -- no studying!!!
2. While I was signing in to take the exam, a woman looked at me and said "Mandy, what a feminine name. I really like it. I bet you do, too." In fact, just this past weekend I have been talking about how I was not happy with my name because it sounded like a little girls name. However, maybe I will give the name Mandy another look.
3. I went to work after passing my exam. I was walking out of my office when a professional woman I have never met before says to me "MSW's Rock." I said "Thanks." I agree with her but what I think ROCKS even more is an LCSW.

Mandy...
1.) Glad I can still call you Mandy. I thought the "Amanda" notion was silly :)
2.) LCSW!!!!!!!!!!!! Woot, woot.
Congratulations!!! Dr. Jensen you have done so much to help me move forward in my life....it is just so calming to know that you are now licensed to do it.
Do I still get the friend rate if you open your own practice?
I'm so proud of you!!
Now..can the license be for Idaho or Utah too??....
Way to go Mandy!
