Last weekend a group of my friends and I rented a home in Boiling Springs, PA. The home was situated directly on the Yellow Breeches River. Our house was equipped with a canoe, paddle boat, yard games, and a tire swing. The weekend weather was beautiful and I was so happy to be able to bring out the shorts and welcome Spring. One things that my friends do well is to make ridiculous themes during our trips. This trips themes were: winning the chalace; the Dirty Butterfly Gang; and everyone dying. To help you understand my friends and my humor I will explain how these came to be.
1. The Chalice.

1. The Chalice.

During dinner on Friday night, everyone was drinking out of wine glasses. I sought out my own wine glass and then found the chalice. It was huge - as big as my head! I drank out of it and enjoyed it throughly. Somehow the chalice became the prize for winning any sort of game during the weekend. I am happy to report that I won the chalice in the first game. However, Trent quickly beat me....again and again and again. Kim was also a chalice holder for her glorious tie in Scrabble.
2. The Dirty Butterfly Gang
Friday night was capped off by watching the blockbuster I Am Legend. We watched the alternative ending: The monster rubs a picture of a butterfly on a glass door with his grimy hands. We started to call it the Dirty Butterfly.
Our house was located in the quiant town of Boiling Springs, PA. Yes, there is a boiling spring...watch the video. Early Saturday morning we made our way out into the town. The pond had just been stocked and their were fisherman all over. We waked through the town and took in the sights: the boiling spring, the mill, and the house that we affectionatly called "America." We found a yard sign that said "Go Bubblers." There mascot is really the Bubblers? How fearse!

The DBG: Scott, Kim, April, Mary, Wane, me, Trent, and Clint in front of the mill and pond
The house called "America" * Go Bubblers!!!
The pond and mill
We drove to another small town - Carlisle. Their mascot is the Carlisle Bisson. A local cheerleader told us that they hate the Bubblers. We walked around the town and saw some beautiful churches, went to a farmer's market, and ran into the CLEAN BUTERFLY GANG. Yes, that is right. We saw these preppy young adults walking on the other side of the street. We knew what we had to do. We ran across the street and as we walked by them we snapped. Snapped? That is right...West Side Story style.
2 1/2. Fun on the river.
I really needed a day of pure relaxation and fun. Thank goodness for sunny weather, the river, and reading a good book. It was the perfect balance of fun with friends and personal time. We played Bocce ball and Trent pushed me on the tire swing.
3. Everyone Dies.
Friday night there was a big lightening and thunderstorm. Being on a lake it made it extra creepy so we decided it was like a scary movie when everyone dies. This was funny because on Saturday night we held a murder mystery dinner. I love this!! We dressed up in 1930's clothing and were assigned to act like someone else for the night. I was assigned Eve - a woman that had a slight French accent. I said this a lot "I'z be de Doochess, no?" Mary ended up being the murderer - it is always the wife. My character had tried but Mary's beat me to it.

That song was perfect to your movie. I never saw the alternative ending to I am legand! I am super mad because that movie still give me nightmares! Love you mandy!

First of all: Manders, thanks for sharing such a relaxing retreat with all of us... I can hardly wait for our next adventure.
Now, Derek: I am not even tempted to click on that rick-roll. Stop it.
Those pictures of the murder mystery totally remind me of the first time we met...yep that's right a murder mystery set in the early 1900's. It was magical as has been every encounter with Mandy Jensen since.
