The prize patrol came to town. The winners were announced and the prizes were awarded for the best blog comments. The awards ceremony was in conjunction with our goodbye party to Derek as he is leaving us for Munich. There was laughter and there were tears. The night ended with an excellent rap by Trent and a tender moment when each of us told Derek why we would miss him. Sniffle, sniffle.
The winners had a private party but it is only proper to announce the winners and their prizes here.
The Congeniality Prize for making me feel completely loved went to Kaylyn. She received bags of cinnamon bears that I hope will make her feel loved.

3rd Prize went to Derek for his creativity in the form of a haiku. He was awarded the fine journalistic stylings of the Arco Advertiser.

2nd Prize went to Trent for using my favorite person in the world…Collin and one of my favorite terms "kindred spirits" all in one sentence. Nice work! He was given a Butte Pirates basketball donated by Collin.
Trent's reaction to placing 2nd. Pride.
1st Prize went to Mary for going the extra mile and being an advocate for Costco employees. She was rewarded the grand prize of a Butte Pirates t-shirt. She looked striking in orange but was not available for a photo.
